[Madison, WI] — Wisconsin reforms are taking aim at ending the opioid crisis. Governor Walker, with the help of State Rep. John Nygren and bipartisan support from the Legislature, have passed 30 bills into law as a part of their H.O.P.E. Agenda aimed at ending the opioid crisis. Additionally, just last weekend Attorney General Brad Schimel said that Wisconsin’s Drug Take Back Day collected 29 pallets worth of unused medication. Republicans are putting forward real solutions to end the opioid crisis, and making Wisconsin safer for families throughout the state.
“Too many Wisconsin families know how tragic the opioid crisis can be. Thanks to the bipartisan reforms of Governor Scott Walker and Republican leaders, Wisconsin is meeting this challenge head on,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Their reforms are giving families and our communities the tools that they need to help save lives and end this tragic epidemic.”
Wisconsin reforms are fighting back against the opioid crisis:
  • The Heroin, Opiate Prevention, and Education (H.O.P.E.) Agenda fights the opioid crisis that is ravaging communities. To date, Governor Walker, State Rep. John Nygren, and the Wisconsin State Legislature have passed 30 pieces of legislation into law to help end the crisis.
  • Governor Walker has declared a public crisis and launched the Governor’s Task Force on Opioid Abuse to continue addressing the issue statewide.
  • Attorney General Schimel led Drug Take Back Day in Wisconsin last week, where 29 pallets worth of unused medication were collected statewide.
