MADISON — The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has launched a new accountability project to hold Governor Scott Walker accountable ahead of this November’s election.
The project will include “Reality Checks” to counter Walker’s false claims and spin, and materials generated by the project will live online at www.WalkerRealityCheck.com.
“Governor Walker has failed the state on jobs, on healthcare costs, and so much more. Our schools are falling behind and our roads are crumbling. That’s why voters are so hungry for a change. That’s also why this governor’s election is heating up to become one of the most competitive in the country. Scott Walker is airing a lot of slick TV ads to rewrite history and obscure his record of failure, but the DPW’s Walker Reality Check project will counter his lies and spin with the truth. A Democratic governor will deliver the change that Wisconsin voters deserve.” — George Gillis, Executive Director, Democratic Party of Wisconsin
The website, launching today, will initially include “Reality Checks” on the following topics:
- Healthcare
- Education
- Jobs & Economy
- Roads
- Walker’s War on Women
- Drinking Water & the Environment
- Walker’s Foxconn Giveaway
Additional “Reality Checks” will be rolled out throughout the duration of the campaign, and additional information will be added to each section of the website as it becomes available.
The Walker Reality Check project will be overseen by TJ Helmstetter, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s spokesperson for the 2018 gubernatorial race.
