MADISON — As part of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s “Fix Our Roads” tour, local laborers and operating engineers were joined by Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tony Evers and lt. governor nominee Mandela Barnes to call Scott Walker out for the miserable state of Wisconsin’s roads, which cost Wisconsinites on average $637 in additional car repairs.

Key facts on Scott Walker’s neglect of Wisconsin roads:

  • 42% of Wisconsin roads are in poor or mediocre condition, ranking Wisconsin 44 out of 50 states in road quality

  • Only 41% of Wisconsin state highways were rated in good condition or better in 2015, which is down from 53.5% in when Walker was elected Governor in 2010.

  • Scott Walker diverted $90 million away from local road projects as part of his $4.5 billion taxpayer giveaway to Foxconn

  • Walker has refused to consider all options when it comes to fixing our roads, an attitude that has frustrated even his Republican colleagues
