Today, as Scott Walker continues to receive a steady stream of criticism from his fellow Republicans, DPW launched a new website “WalkAwayFromWalker.com.” The site invites Wisconsinites from across the political spectrum to join with the likes of former Walker cabinet secretaries and share their stories about why they are walking away from Scott Walker this November.

The site also features comments from prominent Republicans who have spoken out against Walker for his failed leadership and misguided policies. Former Republican state Senator, Dale Schultz, recently told the AP that he’s “never seen a situation like this where there seems to be a building insurrection for a governor running for re-election.”

In just  the last few days, several former Walker cabinet members have ramped up their criticisms against Walker. Today, former Corrections Secretary Ed Wall appeared in a new video highlighting the nearly 3,000 sex offenders currently unaccounted for in Wisconsin because of Walker’s lack of leadership. Yesterday, former Transportation Secretary Mark Gottlieb slammed Walker for “fear mongering” in ads about addressing the state’s transportation problems. Walker’s former Finance Secretary Peter Bildsten has also spoken out about being pressured to meet with special interests during his time as a state official.

The website will be updated as more concerned Republicans undoubtedly come forward to say why they too are walking away from Walker.

“After eight years of putting politics before the good of the state, more and more Wisconsinites are putting down their political stripes  walking away from Scott Walker,” said DPW spokesperson Alex Japko. “We hope this site will encourage more concerned Wisconsinites to share their reasons for ditching their failed governor. They know it’s time for a change. It’s time for Wisconsin to walk away from Walker once and for all.”
