State rep reiterates Tony Evers’s attitude towards fixing our roads

MADISON — First, it was Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, now state Representative Rob Swearingen is taking issue with Scott Walker’s neglect of Wisconsin roads.

In an interview with WJFW in Wausau, Rep. Swearingen raised the alarm on the lack of a long-term solution to Wisconsin’s transportation funding and reiterated a sentiment expressed by Tony Evers that “all options should be on the table” when it comes to fixing our roads.

Swearingen later lamented that he doesn’t know if Walker “[will] change his tune” on road financing, or if he’ll just keep using the “state’s credit card.”

“The state of our roads has become so unacceptable that even Republicans are raising the alarm on Scott Walker’s mismanagement,” said Courtney Beyer, DPW spokesperson. “Republicans and Democrats agree; action needs to be taken, yet Walker has refused to do the bare minimum while our roads have literally crumbled. Maybe if Walker actually drove on our roads he’d feel the sense of urgency the rest of us do.”
