Madison, WI – The Wisconsin Railroad Association was encouraged by Governor-Elect Evers’ choice of Craig Thompson as the next Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). The Wisconsin Railroad Association is a non-profit trade association established to represent the interests of freight railroads operating in Wisconsin and related Wisconsin businesses.
Craig Thompson comes to the Secretary position with a balanced background in transportation. For years Craig has worked for the development and maintenance of a strong, interconnected transportation network necessary for a strong economy and to improve the quality of life for everyone in Wisconsin.
“As the Executive Director of the Transportation Development Association, Craig has been a
strong leader and consensus builder among the diverse transportation partners. He
understands that freight rail is an important part of the transportation mix. In the many years I’ve worked with him, Craig has always been a balanced voice for transportation,” said Wisconsin Railroad Association President, Ken Lucht.
The Wisconsin Railroad Association looks forward to working with Craig Thompson and the
