Greenbush, Wis. – On August 9 at 7:00 pm, the Wade House feature a presentation of Mike Lilek’s “An American Home by Frank Lloyd Wright.” Lilek’s lecture will explore Wright’s broad vision to shelter all Americans in a beautiful home of his design with emphasis on the American System-Built Homes in Milwaukee. Wright would say, “I believe this effort is the logical conclusion of my studies and my architectural practice…”
Mike Lilek is a leading scholar on Frank Lloyd Wright’s American System-Built Homes. Lilek is currently the Curator of “Burnham Block”, six Wright-designed American System-Built Homes on Burnham Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mike supervised the restoration of two of the homes and is currently working on the first monograph about the project. Lilek is also President of Shining Brow, LLC., a software developer creating solutions for field-service organizations based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Wade House lecture series will take place at the Wade House Visitor Center located at W7965 Hwy. 23 in Greenbush, WI, halfway between Sheboygan and Fond du Lac. Admission to the “An American Home by Frank Lloyd Wright” lecture on August 9 is $5.00 per person. Wisconsin Historical Society members receive free admission.
The Wade House is celebrating the 150th birthday of world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright with a series of lectures and an exhibit focusing on Wright’s work in Wisconsin and his relationship with Sheboygan carriage collector and restoration expert Wesley W. Jung.
