Eau Claire, Wis. (Oct. 19, 2018)— The Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans calls on State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Evers, to apologize to Wisconsin students for plagiarizing sections of his budget for Wisconsin schools. Students in K-12 schools and universities across the state that Tony Evers oversees are held to a high standard of academic integrity while receiving their education. Instead of holding himself to the same standard of integrity as his students, Tony Evers attempted to pass off the work of others as his own.

In response to Tony Evers’ dishonesty, Ryan Ring, Chairman of the Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans, issued the following statement: “It is disgraceful that State Superintendent Tony Evers would plagiarize and yet hold the students he oversees to a different standard of academic integrity. If Tony Evers truly believes that ‘what is best for our kids is best for our state,’ he should apologize to Wisconsin students for his blatant hypocrisy. One of the most important obligations the State Superintendent is tasked with is to produce a state budget for Wisconsin schools. If he couldn’t even complete that duty with honesty and integrity, how can Wisconsin trust him to run our state?”
