WCA Commends Governor-Elect Evers for
Selection of Craig Thompson for WisDOT Secretary

The Wisconsin Counties Association commends Governor-Elect Tony Evers for the
selection of Craig Thompson as his Wisconsin Department of Transportation
(WisDOT) secretary.

“Hands down, Craig Thompson is the most qualified, knowledgeable and capable
person Governor-Elect Evers could have selected for the position of WisDOT
secretary,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “While he is fully
prepared to solve the problems of the day, one of his many talents is the ability to
see years into the future and take actions today which better prepare Wisconsin for
tomorrow.”

Thompson began his career at the Wisconsin Counties Association, where he served
for 16 years, including 10 as legislative director.

“Craig is incredibly well respected from the local through the federal level. We are
confident his leadership within WisDOT, as well as his ability to bring vastly
different groups and coalitions together for the betterment of our state, means a
very bright future for Wisconsin,” concluded O’Connell.

The Wisconsin Counties Association represents the interests of county governments
at both the state and federal levels and is located in Madison, Wisconsin. Learn more
