Highlights record of getting results by lowering taxes and keeping Wisconsin working

[Madison, Wis.] – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin endorsed Scott Walker in his campaign for governor at a construction project site in Appleton today. ABC members are endorsing Scott Walker for his pro-growth reforms such as lowering taxes, reforming labor laws, and expanding worker training.

When Scott Walker took office, Wisconsin was on the wrong track. Jobs were fleeing the state, double-digit tax increases were the norm, and hard-working families and businesses were struggling. Thanks to Scott Walker, Wisconsin has righted the ship and Wisconsin is working again. In his next four years, Scott Walker will continue to build on our success as we enact our plan to keep Wisconsin working for generations to come.

“Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin proudly endorses Gov. Walker in his upcoming election, said John Mielke, ABC of Wisconsin president. “Thanks to Gov. Walker’s reforms, Wisconsin’s economy is extremely strong. By lowering taxes, enacting free-market labor laws and expanding worker training for family-sustaining jobs, Gov. Walker has our state moving in the right direction,” Mielke said. “Gov. Walker’s agenda for the next four years will continue the Wisconsin comeback and keep Wisconsin working for generations to come,” Mielke added.

Statement from Gov. Walker on the endorsement:

“Thank you to the Associated Builders and Contractors for their support in our upcoming election. We are proud of our record of reform, which has led to unemployment being at or below 3.0 percent for eight straight months, more people working this year than ever before, and a thriving economy. Our plan for the next four years builds on our successes while keeping taxes low and investing in our priorities.”

Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin is comprised of more than 870 construction-related businesses around the state dedicated to free-market principles and open competition. ABC worked with Scott Walker on issues such as changing the apprentice-to-journeyworker ratio, instituting free-market labor laws, and keeping taxes low on small businesses.
