Scott Walker is leading while Washington fails to act
[Madison, Wis.] – Scott Walker’s campaign on Tuesday launched its next statewide television ad that highlights the governor’s efforts to address skyrocketing health care premiums after Washington failed to get the job done of repealing Obamacare.
The ad – also appearing on digital platforms – features Don Lee, a medical doctor who has seen first-hand how Washington’s mandated Obamacare has increased premiums and decreased choice. He understands that Gov. Walker’s Health Care Stability Plan – which includes a $200 million investment in a market-based solution to bring costs down – will help stabilize health care and bring down costs while the governor continues to press Washington to do its job and repeal Obamacare.

Dr. Lee: Wisconsin’s health care system is ranked first in the nation for quality. But, Obamacare premiums have skyrocketed by 36% this year, and many families just can’t afford to pay for health care. Washington politicians keep promising to fix the problem, but it never happens. That’s why Gov. Walker’s plan to keep premiums down is so important.
Gov. Walker: Our bipartisan plan invests $200 million to help lower premiums for Wisconsin families – because we can’t wait for Washington to get the job done.
The spot will run on television as well as on a range of online and social media platforms. It’s the fifth in a series of ads the Walker campaign is running on the governor’s strong record of getting positive things done and his plans for more bold reform to help Wisconsin win the 21st century.
Previous Walker campaign ads include “Helping People Like Me” about building a high-skilled workforce and “To Save Lives” about his bipartisan efforts fighting the opioid crisis and tackling serious problems for hard-working families. In addition, “Providing a Leg Up” talks about the good jobs and workforce training the governor has supported as part of Wisconsin’s comeback, and “To Help People” is about the governor’s support for initiatives to help students with disabilities enter the workforce.

- Wisconsin’s health care system is ranked first in the nation for quality, but costs for hard-working families are rising under Obamacare.
