Company purchasing downtown building and expecting to create at least 200 high-tech jobs

[Madison, Wis.] – Following the historic Foxconn groundbreaking – the largest economic development project in Wisconsin’s history – the company announced Friday that they are expanding into Green Bay by purchasing a six-story building and creating at least 200 high-tech jobs.

Wisconsin’s comeback was on full display last week as Foxconn broke ground on their new investment in Wisconsin’s workers. The company will create at least 13,000 good-paying, family-supporting jobs and pay an average salary of $53,875. The week was topped off by the governor’s bold reforms paying additional dividends with Foxconn announcing its expansion into northeast Wisconsin. The success of job creators of all sizes across the state show that Scott Walker is helping Wisconsin’s workers win the 21st century.

Check out what’s in the news:

From WBAY: “The Taiwan-based technology company plans to open an innovation center later this year. The company plans to hire 200 workers for the Green Bay location. … This comes one day after Foxconn held a ceremonial groundbreaking on its $10 billion Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Mount Pleasant.”

From Wisconsin Public Radio: “Foxconn Technology Group is expanding its Wisconsin footprint to the northeastern part of the state. The Taiwanese tech giant plans to open an innovation center at the WaterMark building in downtown Green Bay along the Fox River by later this year.”

From the Milwaukee Business Journal: “The announcement represents an expansion of the Taiwanese company’s investment in the state beyond Racine County in southeast Wisconsin. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who attended Friday’s announcement, has been touting the statewide impact of Foxconn, which is his signature economic development achievement.”

From Fox 6: “’Foxconn’s decision to expand its Wisconn Valley Innovation Network to northeastern Wisconsin is yet another example of the ‘Foxconn Bonus’ that goes above and beyond the company’s historic investment in Racine County … Foxconn is already having a positive impact on every region of our great state,’ said Governor Walker.”
