MADISON – Dana Wachs, a Democrat challenging Gov. Scott Walker in November, called out Walker today following the release of Walker’s latest political campaign ad:

“If Gov. Walker thinks we’ve all been living under a rock for the last eight years, he’s dead wrong. Walker is the one who has been undermining our healthcare system. He is the one who has denied coverage to tens of thousands of folks in Wisconsin. Walker is the one who attacked women’s health care, refused millions in our federal tax dollars to expand BadgerCare, and refused to protect health care coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.

“Gov. Walker is out of his mind if he thinks a slick campaign ad is going to convince voters that he cares about them. Walker only cares about one thing — himself.

“This ad is a bait-and-switch. As soon as Walker gets what he wants, he’ll go right back to dismantling our healthcare system,” said Wachs.

Dana Wachs fought to ensure every Wisconsinite has access to good, affordable health care, to protect people with pre-existing conditions, to ensure young people can remain on their parents’ health insurance until age 26, and to protect access to women’s health care. Wachs also released a Healthy Badger Initiative in January, which is available here.
