Brookfield, Wis. – Campaigning this weekend with New York’s Kristen Gillibrand who wants to abolish ICE, Tammy Baldwin showed her true colors on immigration, just like when she voted with Gillibrand against completing the U.S.- Mexican border fence.

“Two-faced Tammy Baldwin will tell you she doesn’t want to abolish ICE, but she was just spotted in the Hamptons with Kristin Gillibrand, one of the loudest cheerleaders for abolishing ICE. Both of these radically liberal senators voted no on building a border fence with Mexico,” said Leah Vukmir campaign manager Jess Ward. “Unlike Two-Faced Tammy who claims to be in your corner, Leah Vukmir will actually work with President Trump to secure our border and fully fund ICE.”

BACKGROUND…

Two-faced Tammy Baldwin will be in the Hamptons attending a cocktail party and a fancy brunch with Senator Gillibrand.  “Lisa Rosenblum will host an East Hampton brunch Aug. 19 for Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. (There will also be an area cocktail event with Baldwin the night before.)” (The New York Post, 07/28/18)

Two-faced Tammy Baldwin’s ally Senator Gillibrand said if Democrats regain control of Congress, they should get rid of ICE. “‘So when we flip the House and flip the Senate, I think the first thing we should do is deal with the children who have been separated from their families at the border. I think we should get rid of ICE,’ Sen. Gillibrand said at New York City’s OZY Fest 2018.” (Town Hall, 07/23/18)

In June 2013, Baldwin and Gillibrand voted against the Thune Amendment to require the completion of a U.S.-Mexican border fence as a component of immigration reform legislation. “Thune, R-S.D., amendment no. 1197 that would require 350 miles of double-layered fencing along the southern border be completed before the Homeland Security Department can begin processing applications for provisional legal status from illegal immigrants. It would require 700 miles of fencing be completed before such individuals can receive permanent resident status.” (S.Amdt. 1197 To S. 744, Roll Call Vote #151: Amendment Rejected 39-54-7, 6/18/13, Baldwin Voted Nay; CQ Summary, Accessed 1/15/16)
