WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said this after introducing Judge Michael Brennan, President Trump’s nominee to join the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, at Brennan’s confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday:

“I am proud to have introduced Judge Brennan today at his confirmation hearing. He is an exceptionally qualified individual whose nomination has received bipartisan praise. This explains why the attorney general of Wisconsin and the state’s public defender — fierce opponents in the courtroom — and a bipartisan group of Wisconsin judges wrote letters enthusiastically supporting his nomination. Wisconsin, the Seventh Circuit, and our nation’s judicial system will be well served once he is confirmed by the Senate.”
