La Crosse – Today, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind issued the following statement, following President Trump’s announcement of his intent to break America’s commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and withdraw from the Iran nuclear accord:
“This shortsighted decision by the President is a reckless display of carelessness in both foreign relations and national security that further isolates us from our allies in the world. Reneging on our commitment to the Iran deal has the potential to lead to military conflict with Iran, or start a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Even the Trump Administration admits that Iran has been in complete compliance of the Iran nuclear accord. It has been made clear that violating the terms of the agreement could cause a complete collapse of the deal.
There is no Plan B for America or our allies in preventing Iran from developing nuclear capability.”
