What:

The Fire and Police Commission (FPC) have begun the process of selecting an Interim Chief of Police who will begin leading the agency on February 16th. Under Wisconsin law and the Milwaukee City Charter, the Fire and Police Commission oversees all aspects of Fire Department and Police Department operations. Our town hall meeting is an opportunity for community members to share their views on desired qualifications for any Chief of Police. This information will be provided to the FPC and utilized as a component of community feedback/ input during the selection process.

Who:

The Town Hall Meeting is hosted by the Join the Community Coalition for Quality Policing (CC4QPC) and LISC Milwaukee . Moderators are Donsia Strong Hill, LISC Milwaukee Executive Director and Fred Royal, President of the NAACP Milwaukee Branch and CC4QPC member. A five-member panel of experts will participate in the meeting to share their desired qualities and discuss why positive community and police interactions are critical. Most importantly, the panel will be available to respond to community feedback.
