First-time candidate one of only 35 candidates endorsed nationally

Osseo, WI – This week, Steve Toft announced that he was endorsed by the veterans’ group With Honor. According to their website, “With Honor is a cross-partisan organization. We help elect principled next-generation veterans in order to solve our biggest problems and fix a Congress that is dysfunctional.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of such an important veterans’ group,” said Toft. “It is so important that we elect more military veterans to office. The skills, leadership and commitment that you learn serving your nation are unique. I hope to honor all the veterans who came before me and serve as an example for more to seek office.”

Of the nearly 200 veterans running for Congress, With Honor has chosen to endorse only 35. They also recently announced the support of Jeff Bezos in their goal of raising $30 million.

“The support for this campaign and what we represent has been staggering,” continued Toft. “Running for office for the first time has been an incredible experience and I encourage likeminded veterans across the country to join me. Together we can change Washington.”

Toft grew up on a farm in West Central Wisconsin, graduated from UW-Eau Claire and returned to Osseo after retirement. While serving 32 years in the Army, Toft served as a health care administrator. He lives there with his wife of 28 years Carla, together they have two grown children. His wife Carla also retired with rank of Colonel.
