Gift allows more than 100 new adult learners to gain literacy skills in 2019

What: Madison Club Charitable Foundation board members will present a check for $128,000 raised through the Madison Club’s annual Charity Gala on November 10. The gift represents the second-largest donation from the Madison Club Charitable Foundation in its 14-year history.

When: Thursday, December 13 at 2:30 PM

Where: Literacy Network of Dane County, 701 Dane Street, Madison

Why: The Madison Club membership committed to a five-year term supporting organizations that bridge opportunity gaps. More than 55,000 adults in Dane County need literacy services. This gift will support sustainability of programs and increase the number of learners.

“It is a great honor to work with the amazing Madison Club Charitable Foundation to support adult learners on their journey. We’re excited to partner with their members and staff to help adults and families achieve their dreams,” said Literacy Network Executive Director Jeff Burkhart.

Literacy Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization made up of teachers, students, tutors, volunteers and donors, all working together to improve adult literacy in Dane County. Programs help adults improve their basic reading, writing and English skills so that they may better achieve goals specific to their needs. Literacy Network serves about 1,000 each year in 34 locations.
