The House is hard at work passing bills to build a stronger economy. This week, Congress sent four bills to the president’s desk, including two that will go a long way in helping America’s small businesses.

Authored by House Committee on Small Business Chairman Steve Chabot (R-OH), the Small Business 7(a) Lending Oversight Reform Act of 2018 strengthens the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Credit Risk Management. Recently, there has been an uptick in the popularity of these particular loans, so this bill ensures the program is run efficiently and effectively.

The Small Business Investment Opportunity Act of 2017, authored by Rep. Steve Knight (R-CA) makes it easier for our communities’ small businesses to access capital they need to grow and expand.

This is all about improving people’s lives—whether that means passing more than 50 bills related to fighting the opioid crisis this week or sending these two small business bills to the president’s desk.
