A transcript of her remarks are below:

“Since Republicans took control of state government, we have turned Wisconsin around. Under Gov. Walker’s leadership, the state of our state is strong. Wisconsin Republicans have delivered.

“Our state was once a tax hell. People were struggling to find jobs. If the Democrats have their way, they’d take us back to the liberal policies that drove us into the ground.

“But with Republican reforms, Wisconsin is working. Businesses are hiring. Our unemployment rate is at 3.0 percent, the lowest rate in history. Wisconsinites are keeping more of their hard-earned dollars with the elimination of the state property tax. Parents have more choices in their children’s education.

“My colleagues and I are committed to making Wisconsin work for our constituents. We will continue to combat the heroin epidemic, protect our communities and lessen government dependence. We will not stop, there is more to do. You have my word.”

Leah Vukmir is the assistant majority leader of the Wisconsin State Senate. She represents portions of Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties.
