MADISON – Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) announced that Senator Patty Schachtner (D-Somerset) has been appointed to three standing committees. Senator Schachtner will serve as a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Small Business and Tourism, the Committee on Sporting Heritage, Mining and Forestry, and the Committee on Universities and Technical Colleges. Upon receiving these committee assignments, Senator Schachtner released the following statement:
“I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work in the State Senate. These committees reflect many of the major issues facing western Wisconsin and will allow our region to have a strong voice as these important policies are debated. I look forward to working with my new Senate colleagues and being an active voice in the upcoming discussions on higher education, agriculture, small business development and sporting heritage.”
