With more than a third of precincts in, Sauk County Judge Michael Screnock and Milwaukee County Judge Rebecca Dallet are out to early leads in the three-way primary for the state Supreme Court.

Screnock, the conservative candidate in the race, was at 47 percent, while Dallet, who has run as a left-of-center candidate, was at 37 percent, according to unofficial returns collected by The Associated Press.

Middleton attorney Tim Burns was at 16 percent.

The top two finishers advance to the April 3 general election to fill the seat of Justice Michael Gableman, who decided against seeking another 10-year term on the court.
