WASHINGTON, D.C. – Wisconsin Democrats are refusing to donate or return tens of thousands of dollars in donations from a Madison donor who is at the center of a sexual harassment dispute in the workplace.

As reported in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Mark Bakken has given “… $20,000 to Josh Kaul, the Democrat running for state attorney general.”

When asked about the donations, Kaul campaign manager Ashley Viste failed to mention the victim’s name and condone Bakken’s actions, saying only, “If Mr. Bakken is found to have acted wrongfully, we will donate his contribution.”

In response, Republican Attorneys General Association Communications Director Zack Roday released the following statement:

“Natalee Cruse was sexually harassed and then fired for standing up for herself. Rather than stand up for Natalee, Mark Bakken fired her. Unfortunately, Josh Kaul and Wisconsin Democrats have decided to stand with Bakken by keeping his money. The Republican Attorneys General Association is calling on Josh Kaul to donate his contribution, acknowledge the victim and denounce sexual harassment.”
