Madison: The Manitowoc School District has received a $227,080 school safety grant through the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) School Safety Grant program. Attorney General Brad Schimel announced the grant earlier today.

“Under the grants provided through this program, nearly one million children throughout the state will be safer,” said Rep. Paul Tittl (R-Manitowoc) who represents the 25th Assembly District. “That’s good news not only for Manitowoc, but for the entire state.”

Today’s announcement included $4,912,591 in funding for 67 school districts.

Attorney General Schimel also announced plans for a second round of grant funding using the approximately $45 million of remaining available funding.

Last month two other school districts in the 25th Assembly District also received awards: Valders Area School District ($45,761) and the Hilbert School District ($17,476).
