Rep. Chris Taylor, 608-266-5342

MADISON – Last week, documents revealed the extent to which Gov. Scott Walker has used a state airplane to further this political career. The documents showed that Gov. Walker racked up 993 flights costing taxpayers more than $900,000 in the last three years. Today, newly uncovered documents show that Gov. Walker flew to Rhinelander at a cost of $2,017 to film a campaign commercial nearby. In response, Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“I am outraged but not surprised that Gov. Walker once again appears to be skirting the limits of Wisconsin’s campaign finance laws. That’s been his M.O. since he was Milwaukee County Executive. It’s this type of corrupt behavior that we’ve seen time and time again, and it’s aligned with Wisconsin Republican’s legislative agenda of squashing accountability measures designed to keep elected officials honest, ethical, and law-abiding. Once again, instead of serving all of the people of Wisconsin, Gov. Walker is using state resources to further his own political career and agenda that has failed Wisconsinites.”
