Amendment Provides Chippewa and Dunn Counties Additional ADAs

MADISON- Today, in an effort to reduce case backlog, Assembly legislators came together to announce an amendment to Senate Bill 54 that would add almost 54 additional Assistant District Attorney positions throughout Wisconsin. Following the proposal’s introduction, Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) issued the following statement:

“We have a growing issue with meth-related crimes in our area. Chippewa and Dunn Counties are currently understaffed, and stand to gain much-needed help with this proposal,” stated Rep. Summerfield. “This is a great step in the right direction to help alleviate our overburdened judicial system.”

SB 54 has been scheduled for a vote in the Assembly tomorrow.
