These drug deactivation pouches will be available in all 62 Hometown Pharmacy stores in Wisconsin, providing Wisconsinites in every corner of the state a responsible way to dispose of unwanted or unused medications. The deactivation pouches offered by Hometown Pharmacy feature a simple three-step process that deactivates drugs by opening the pouch, placing unused medications inside, and filling halfway with warm water. Thirty seconds later, the pouch is sealed, you gently shake, and are ready to discard in the trash. Hometown’s program will ensure the deactivation pouches are offered to all customers upon request and specifically to customers with a short-term need for schedule II prescription painkillers
