Madison— Today State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement in response to the Assembly passing a bipartisan package of bills known as the Foster Forward bill package, which improves Wisconsin’s foster care system:

“I am proud to have grown up in a household with foster children, and was thrilled to share my experiences from that time in my life with Members of the Speaker’s Task Force on Foster Care, which I served on.

“These bills make meaningful reforms, like waiving tuition and fees for foster children attending University of Wisconsin schools and state technical colleges, and creating a committee to find a solution to the issue that our foster care caseworkers have some of the highest caseloads in the country. These bipartisan bills are great examples of how Wisconsin is continuing to embrace positive reforms.”
