Madison…Governor Scott Walker and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos announced an agreement on a tax relief package yesterday. Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement:

“As the chairman of the Assembly’s Ways and Means Committee, I am proud to be part of the team that crafted a tax relief package which will return money to the hard working taxpayers of North East Wisconsin and the rest of the state. I look forward to approving this legislation in the Ways and Means Committee in the very near future.”

The legislation will do two things: allow parents to apply online for a one-time $100 per child tax credit for children under the age of 18 and create a sales tax holiday on Saturday, August 4 – Sunday, August 5, 2018 for purchases up to $100 for all Wisconsin residents.

“The hard working taxpayers of Wisconsin deserve to receive a refund when state government has overtaxed them. One hundred dollars per child could help pay for school supplies, clothing or other family needs. Even if you do not have a school-aged child at home, you can still take advantage of the sales tax holiday in early August.”
