Clinton, WI—State Representative Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) released the following statement regarding her firm commitment to seek re-election for Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District, which includes eastern Rock and western Walworth counties.

“I am humbled by the words of encouragement and support I have received over the past two days regarding my viability as a candidate for the opening in the 1st Congressional District. After thoughtful consideration, I feel my constituents will be best served by my re-election to the 31st District in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

“I love serving the 31st Assembly District and I feel like I am making a difference for my constituents and the citizens of Wisconsin. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve in the Wisconsin Legislature for the past eight years. I feel the Wisconsin of 2018 is so much better than when I first ran for office in 2010.

“Unemployment is at a record low, property taxes are below what they were in 2010, and Wisconsin’s Moody’s credit rating was boosted to Aa1. We froze UW tuition for five years in a row while providing millions of dollars in new financial aid assistance for all types of post-secondary education. The Interstate 39/90 expansion is funded and on schedule, and K-12 education funding hit a record high.

“I know that additional work remains to address the high cost of health insurance and the long-term sustainability of the segregated transportation fund. I would like to see more income tax reductions and comprehensive reform to make our tax code fairer and flatter. I also want to continue my efforts to ensure that all Wisconsin youth succeed despite challenges they may face at school and at home.

“I look forward to another positive, inclusive re-election campaign for the 31st Assembly District, and am excited to build on my record as a great listener and a hard-working problem-solver who works with everyone to get things done.
