MADISON – Wisconsin State Representative and Assistant Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D – Middleton) released the following statement commemorating Labor Day this coming Monday, September 3, 2018:

“This Labor Day, we remember and honor the achievements of workers in Wisconsin and throughout our country. We recognize not just those who fought to create fundamental, lasting change through the labor movement, but also the work that remains ahead.

“As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we should reflect on the values that bind us and recognize what allows us to live happy and secure lives. Safe workplaces, livable wages, and access to fundamental rights and services like healthcare, childcare, and family medical leave are critical pillars for this security, and we must fight to protect and build on these very fundamental values.

“As a State Representative, it is an honor and privilege to fight for policies that invest in opportunities and fairness for every child, person, and family in Wisconsin. Let us acknowledge the wonderful achievements of our working people this Labor Day and how we must continue to work together to build an economy that works for all of us.”
