Rep. Felzkowski Celebrates Announcement

Madison, WI – Yesterday, the Wisconsin Public Health Association (WPHA) and the Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards (WALHDAB) named Rep. Mary Felzkowski (R-Irma) a “Friend of Public Health” for the 2017-18 legislative session.

In the 2017-19 state budget, Rep. Felzkowski advocated for new dedicated funding for communicable disease prevention. These funds can be used by local health departments across Wisconsin to combat and prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

Rep. Felzkowski commented, “I am proud to support and advocate for budget measures that are going to positively impact the citizens of Wisconsin. We are very fortunate to live in a state where outbreaks of communicable diseases are rare. This funding ensures we can swiftly take control of any diseases we may encounter now, and in future years to come.”
