City of Oconomowoc — Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) announced on Dec. 21 the Republican appointments to the standing Assembly committees for the 2019-2020 legislative session, which begins on January 7, 2019. Following that announcement, Representative-Elect Barbara Dittrich would like to announce to her constituents her individual Assembly committee assignments. Dittrich will serve on the Financial Institutions, Jobs & the Economy, Labor & Integrated Employment, Medicaid Reform & Oversight, Small Business Development, and Ways & Means Committees, as well as the Vice Chair of Workforce Development Committee.

“I am very excited to get started,” said Dittrich. “I sense that these committee assignments will take advantage of my personal strengths and experience in the special needs community, financial industry, and small business ownership. Also having young adults in my family entering the workforce makes me particularly focused on keeping our Wisconsin citizens gainfully employed. This will be a season of listening and learning for me as well as contributing to make this state a wonderful place to live.”

Dittrich, an Oconomowoc resident of nearly 28 years, will officially take office on Monday, January 7, 2019 in a formal ceremony at the state capitol. She and her husband Steve, a lifetime resident of Oconomowoc, are former small business owners as well as active community members. Her service has ranged from local organizations such as Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce, Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc, and Crosspoint Community Church, to regional and national organizations such as Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation and The Christian Council on Persons with Disabilities. Dittrich has diverse career experience having spent 13 years in the investment industry, as well as more than 15 years in non-profit special needs leadership.
