Madison, WI – Gov. Scott Walker’s 2018 State of the State address focused on the progress we have made as a state since 2011, as well as the great things to come this year. Economic growth, more support for our schools, welfare reform and promoting healthy families are all priorities for the Governor in 2018.

In response to the Governor’s message, Rep. Duchow issued the following remarks:

“Governor Walker did a great job tonight with his State of the State speech. It’s amazing all the things that we have accomplished in the last seven years, and I know we have more great things to come,” said Rep Duchow. “One of the things I was most excited about was his welfare reform package.”

Along with welfare reform, Rep. Duchow is supportive of the Governor’s initiative to return Wisconsin’s budget surplus to taxpayers by providing a $100 per child tax credit rebate, continuing to invest in worker training, and more investment into rural economic development.

“Our state is on the right track with historic low unemployment rate as well as a top ten state for business,” said Rep. Duchow. “Continuing to invest in families, workers, and jobs will allow our state to continue to move Wisconsin forward. We are getting positive things done for the people of Wisconsin, and I am proud, and excited, to be part of the positive initiatives we will work on this year.”
