DE PERE, WI – Alex Renard, Operations Manager at Renco Machine Company, Inc. in Green Bay, announced his campaign today for the vacant 1st State Senate District.

“I am running for State Senate because I believe Northeast Wisconsin needs a new, forward-thinking leader serving area residents in Madison with the business experience and understanding to expand opportunity, solve big problems and make our state a place where both families and business want to come and grow,” said Renard. “I am not a career politician and I bring a proven record of creating jobs, along with the urgency and leadership skills to solve the challenges facing Wisconsinites now, rather than leaving them for the next generation.”

Alex Renard grew up in the western part of the district in the Town of Scott before beginning his professional career as a job creator and private sector problem solver at the company his grandfather started in 1963. Renco Machine currently employs 72 people in Northeast Wisconsin and is one of the nation’s leading industrial machine shops serving the paper, agriculture, energy, defense, marine, automotive, food, material handling, foundry replacement, and mining industries.

“Working in a competitive marketplace each day serving our state’s top industries, I have experienced firsthand the many challenges our people and employers are faced with.” said Renard. “I am prepared to bring my private sector experience to solve big problems and serve our region by helping lead our state towards responsible sustainability and economic prosperity.”

Renard is an avid outdoorsman and dedicated supporter of the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, De Pere Sportsmen’s Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Delta Waterfowl Foundation. He currently serves as the chairman of the Neville Public Museum Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and the Knights of Columbus.
