Brookfield, WI — Tom Palzewicz, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin’s 5th district, today announced a comprehensive plan to prepare for the changes that climate change is bringing and to take steps to protect our planet for future generations.

“Climate change is possibly the biggest threat facing humanity today,” said Palzewicz, a Navy veteran and small-business owner making his first run for public office. “The climate is changing at an alarming rate, which will have devastating effects on our communities and present unique challenges that we must address.

“Renewable energy is the future and we must do more as a country to facilitate an America powered by clean energy,” said Palzewicz, who is running to replace 40-year incumbent Jim Sensenbrenner. “For our kids and grandkids to continue to thrive, it is imperative we begin designing and implementing solutions to the problems that we will face, and safeguard our clean air and water.”

Palzewicz’s five-point plan will recommit to the Paris Climate Accord, put America on the path to 100% renewable energy by 2050, invest in research and science to find innovative solutions, prepare our communities for the imminent effects of climate change, and shift energy subsidies away from fossil fuels.

“America can be a driver in scientific progress again and ensure that future generations are prepared for a changing planet,” said Palzewicz. “I’m confident my plan on climate change can get America started on solving these issues, and make our country a global leader on this issue.”
