Marinette–State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette), Co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance released the following statement announcing his intention to run for reelection:
“Coming off the most productive Legislative session since I have been elected to the State Assembly, I would like to announce my intention to run for reelection.
“Since 2006, the residents of the 89th Assembly District have entrusted me to represent their interests and advocate on their behalf in Madison. Over this time, we have accomplished much and made northeastern Wisconsin a great place to live and raise a family.
“When I first ran for office 12 years ago, I pledged to listen to my neighbors and work hard every day to ensure their voice is heard in Madison. Over this time, we have invested more money into public education than ever before, unemployment is at a record low of 2.9%, and taxes have been cut by over $8 billion. We are moving Wisconsin forward and I look forward to building on this work.
“I would like to thank my constituents for their continued trust and support. Serving the 89th Assembly District has been and continues to be the honor of a lifetime and I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for northeastern Wisconsin values.”
