Kevin Nicholson outraised GOP U.S. Senate rival Leah Vukmir in the second quarter, according to their campaign finance filings.

But Vukmir, a state senator, had more in the bank than the business consultant and former Marine. Nicholson also raised slightly less during the three-month period than he did in the first quarter of 2018.

Vukmir’s report shows the state senator from Brookfield listed $668,788 in receipts, $489,552 in expenses and $816,917 in the bank.

Nicholson, meanwhile, raised just more than $1 million, spent just less than $1.1 million and had $769,514 cash on hand. He also listed $25,000 in debts for a loan he gave the campaign.

Nicholson’s campaign previously announced he raised more than $1 million, but didn’t offer other details of his effort during the three-month period. The new report shows he took in about $74,000 less during the second quarter than in the first quarter of 2018.

Vukmir, meanwhile, raised slightly more in the second quarter after taking in $583,117 during the first three months of the year.

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s second-quarter report had not yet posted to the FEC site as of this afternoon. But she previously announced raising $4.4 million and finishing June with $7.2 million in the bank.
