(Delafield, WI) – Today, Kevin Nicholson, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, announced that Murph Burke will serve as the honorary co-chair of his campaign. Burke – a co-chair of Trump Victory Wisconsin and longtime supporter of Governor Walker and other Wisconsin conservatives – joins Jim Klauser as the honorary co-chair of the campaign. Nicholson, a political newcomer, also announced that his campaign has received support from more than 6,000 Wisconsin donors in all 72 counties, and highlighted additions to the Nicholson for Senate Finance Committee.

“The statewide election of Senator Ron Johnson and President Donald Trump made it clear to me that it’s going to take someone from outside of the political establishment to beat Tammy Baldwin in November,” said Burke. “After meeting and talking with Kevin — and hearing him answer some tough questions — I am confident he is the right person to be the Republican nominee. His time in the Marine Corps and in business has clearly prepared him to take the tough votes needed to get our country back on the right trajectory. I am happy to be a part of this effort.”

Klauser previously remarked: “Wisconsin needs someone like Kevin Nicholson to fix this mess in Washington. It’s going to take an outsider with real world experience to enact true conservative change on behalf of our great state. I’ve worked with serious leaders in Wisconsin for decades, and I can tell you that Kevin is exactly the right candidate to defeat Tammy Baldwin and get things moving in Washington, DC for the better.”

Nicholson commented: “Thank you to Murph Burke and Jim Klauser for serving as honorary campaign co-chairs. I also appreciate the outpouring of support from throughout Wisconsin – with over 6,000 supporters donating to our campaign. We are building the campaign infrastructure, including an outstanding finance committee, that continues to show overwhelming grassroots momentum. I’m honored to have the support and confidence of so many wonderful people.”

In addition to Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs Jim Klauser and Murph Burke, the Nicholson for Senate Finance Committee includes John Anderson, Betsie Berrien, Bill Berrien, Ginee Burke, Tom Burke, Debbie Cervenka, Tom Diehl, Jeff Harris, Rick Lommen, Jack McKeithan, Patti McKeithan, Fred Mohs, Mary Mohs, Ed Mooney, Ann Murphy, Pat Murphy, Mick Neshek, Matt Neumann, Trygve Solberg, Dick Uihlein, Liz Uihlein, and Terrence Wall.

Burke is a longtime conservative and Milwaukee philanthropist. In addition to serving as the co-chair of Trump Victory Wisconsin, she has supported Governor Walker and many other conservatives over the years. She graduated from Mount Mary College, and completed graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was appointed by then-County Executive Scott Walker to the Milwaukee County Public Art Commission, and by President George W. Bush to the Advisory Committee on the Arts. She is married to John Burke and has five children.

Nicholson, a Marine combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, is a first-time candidate running in the Republican primary to defeat Democrat Tammy Baldwin.
