Tonight, Caleb Frostman won the race for Wisconsin Senate District 1, flipping a district that voted for Donald Trump by double digits. Over the last 10 days, NextGen Wisconsin organizers have knocked on nearly 7,800 doors and made over 3,600 calls in SD 1 and Assembly District 42. In response, NextGen Wisconsin State Youth Director George Olufosoye made the following statement:

“Congratulations to State Senator-elect Caleb Frostman on winning tonight’s special election in Senate District 1. In the words of Scott Walker, ‘Tonight’s results show we are at risk of a #BlueWave in WI.’ This victory is another sign that voters reject Walker’s conservative agenda and want leaders who will stand up for our education, our environment, and our rights. Progressives are winning elections in every corner of the state because young people are energized and making their voices heard at the ballot box. Since last fall, NextGen Wisconsin has organized 7,500 young voters to take action — and we will continue our efforts to vote out conservative politicians who ignore the interests of young Wisconsinites in November.”
