The Committee on Political Education has conducted interviews for the Special Election in the City of Milwaukee District 5 and forwarded a recommendation to the full delegate assembly of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council.

Delegates from local unions in the building trades, the industrial, public, and service sectors voted in favor of endorsing Matthew Elder for Milwaukee Common Council District 5.

“Matthew Elder is dedicated to tackling important issues facing Milwaukee’s Fifth District. He will work to support local businesses and public schools, to improve roads and to increase public safety,” said Pam Fendt, President of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council. “We believe Matt will represent the needs of workers and their families.”

The Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, August 14th and the General Election will follow on Tuesday, November 6th. Voter readiness is essential.
