Statement from Alderman Rainey on children shooting victims

As the Milwaukee Police Department continues to search for a suspect in the shooting of two children, I implore anyone with information related to the case to come forward. According to MPD, Monday night at 8:35p.m., an unknown person fired multiple gunshots in the area of 2600 W. Concordia Ave. A vehicle driving in the area was struck by the gunfire resulting in two boys, ages 8 and 9, being shot.

By the grace of God the children’s injuries are non-life threatening. But this incident should have us looking deeper, not just the wounds afflicted on these young children but also on the community. We must do all we can to prevent incidents like these from occurring. In this instance, what’s done is done and again I urge anyone with possible information to contact MPD at 414-933-4444.
