Alderwoman Chantia Lewis, (414) 286-2868

Alderwoman Chantia Lewis of the 9th District is taking on a new role in helping advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress. Alderwoman Lewis has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2018 Community and Economic Development (CED) federal advocacy committee, which develops the organization’s federal policy positions on issues involving housing, community and economic development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation and international competitiveness.

“My appointment to the NLC – CED federal advocacy committee brings an opportunity for new, innovative ways to restructure my district, while providing new information and resources that will assist with economic development for both Milwaukee and the new 9th,” said Ald. Lewis.

“Serving on an NLC committee is one of the most effective ways for a local official to advocate for their community in Washington,” said NLC President Mark Stodola. “I am thrilled to have Chantia Lewis join a team of local leaders from around the country working to craft our policy platform and to solve the most pressing challenges facing our communities.”
