On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Marquette University Law School and the Milwaukee Bar Association will host the 39th Annual Conference on Recent Developments in Criminal Law. Join us at the Law School’s beautiful Eckstein Hall facility for this annual event, which over the course of nearly four decades has provided continuing legal education to hundreds and hundreds of lawyers.

Once again, a faculty of the highest quality will address timely topics of interest to criminal law practitioners. CONFERENCE DETAILS

Schedule. The conference will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. Coffee and pastries will be available when the doors open at 8:00 a.m. Beverages will also be served during session breaks.  A complimentary lunch (pizza and sandwiches) will be offered to all attendees.

Location. Marquette Law School, Eckstein Hall, 1215 West Michigan Street (#7 on campus map). Complimentary for off-campus visitors is available in the Eckstein Hall Underground Parking Structure (7a on campus map) – 11th Street level. 11th Street level, between Wisconsin Avenue and Clybourn. Enter the lot, pull a ticket, and find an open parking space. Once parked, follow signs to the elevator. Take the elevator to main floor which opens to the foyer and go to the Welcome Desk to get your “chaser” ticket so that you will not have to pay for parking when exiting. Our parking system requires two tickets to exit. The ticket you pulled to enter and the “chaser” ticket the Welcome Desk will give you. You will be given instructions.

Registration. The registration fee for the all-day conference is $165.00 for members of the Milwaukee Bar Association and $190.00 for all others. Advance registration (either online or by mail) will guarantee a set of the specially prepared instructional materials on the date of the conference. Registrations will also be accepted at the door.

CLE CREDITS. It is anticipated that the program will be approved for 8.5 CLE credits. Approval has also been sought for 8.5 hours of criminal law credit by the Wisconsin State Public Defender Board. Within the 8.5 hours are TWO hours of ethics credits.

Cancellation. To receive a registration fee refund, you must notify Professor Thomas Hammer at the Marquette University Law School by 4:00 p.m. on November 29, 2018. Substitutions may be made at any time.
