MILWAUKEE COUNTY – Today, United States Senator Tammy Baldwin announced her endorsement of Earnell Lucas for Milwaukee County Sheriff. Baldwin joins three former Governors of Wisconsin and a growing list of over 100 elected officials, community leaders and organizations supporting Lucas.

“Earnell Lucas is an experienced leader who is committed to serving and protecting Milwaukee county,” said Senator Baldwin. “After rising to the level of captain in the Milwaukee Police Department over a 25-year career, Earnell went on to head security for Major League Baseball partnering with law enforcement agencies around the country to keep players and fans safe. Earnell’s experience and professionalism sets him apart, and I endorse his campaign for Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.”

“I am deeply honored by Senator Baldwin’s trust and support,” said Lucas. “Senator Baldwin is a strong advocate for our progressive values and for the people of Milwaukee County. Her support affirms what we know to be true: Milwaukee County deserves a new Sheriff who will restore integrity and the public’s trust to the Sheriff’s Office. As the next Sheriff, I will partner with Senator Baldwin to secure the resources necessary to make Milwaukee County a strong and safe community, where residents can safely enjoy our parks and travel on our highways.”

Lucas is a decorated law enforcement executive and respected public safety professional. His experiences include partnering with law enforcement and public safety officials from around the country and around the world. While a police captain, he commanded a district that formed coalitions with stakeholders to reduce crime and improve community relations. During his time at Major League Baseball, he has led operations to ensure the safety of over 75 million fans and the integrity of our national pastime.
