MILWAUKEE COUNTY – American Federation of Teachers Local 212, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998 and Laborers’ International Union Local 113 have joined a growing list of organizations and elected officials endorsing Earnell Lucas for Milwaukee County Sheriff.

By endorsing Lucas, AFT Local 212, ATU Local 998 and LIU Local 113 join an already impressive list of supporters such as the Milwaukee Area Labor Council, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Mayor Tom Barrett and District Attorney John Chisholm. These organizations and officials know that Earnell is the candidate with the experience, judgment and leadership needed in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

Lucas is a decorated law enforcement executive with over 40 years of public safety experience. He has a proven record of partnering with law enforcement and government officials at the local, federal and international level. Lucas led the law enforcement response to the Big Blue crane collapse during the construction of Miller Park and has been responsible for developing and executing security operations at Major League Baseball’s All-Star Games and World Series. Lucas’ four decades in law enforcement and public safety, coupled with his experiences, are why supporters across the county have placed their trust in his ability to give the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office a fresh, new start.

Lucas was born and raised in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Rufus King High School and Marquette University and is a 25-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. He enjoys a successful career with Major League Baseball, where he has served in many capacities, including head of security. Lucas lives in Milwaukee with his wife and attends St. Matthew CME Church.
