Brookfield, Wis. – U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir announced on the Vicki McKenna Show Wednesday her plan to truly “drain the swamp” by moving most federal offices and agencies out of Washington and closer to the people they are supposed to represent.
“Washington is completely unaccountable to the people, and it’s time we truly drained the swamp,” Leah said. “By moving the federal bureaucracy out of Washington in addition to further commonsense spending reductions, we’ll make government more responsive to the people while saving taxpayers millions.”
Drain the Swamp:
- Relocate federal office and agencies away from DC and across the country
- Repeal Davis–Bacon’s prevailing wage laws and establishing project-labor agreement neutrality
- Remove the stranglehold of public-sector unions from the federal government with collective bargaining reform
In Wisconsin, Leah has tirelessly led the charge to repeal state prevailing wage laws. She has also fought to ensure non-union construction shops have a level playing field when bidding for state and local projects. Leah stood shoulder to shoulder with Gov. Walker in reforming collective bargaining for public employees despite receiving death threats and thousands of protesters descending on the state Capitol.
