Madison, WI – Maureen Murphy, Mount Pleasant Village Administrator has been appointed to the League of Wisconsin Municipalities 16-member Board of Directors to serve out the term of Stoughton Mayor Donna Olson, who did not seek re-election. The League serves Wisconsin’s cities and villages; providing advocacy, training and legal services.

“Throughout my career, the League has been my go-to source for all things government. It is a great honor to be joining the Board of this preeminent government service organization,” Murphy said.

Murphy currently serves as the Village of Mount Pleasant Administrator. She has more than 25 years of proven leadership experience having served as county administrator in Door County and village administrator in the Village of Slinger, assistant administrator in Mequon and a department head in both Washington and Milwaukee Counties. As Mount Pleasant Village Administrator, Murphy manages the daily operations of the Village, including overseeing its 150 employees, $53 million budget and the Foxconn project. She is currently working with the Village Board to create a “Vision 2020 – a strategic plan for the future of the Village of Mount Pleasant.

The League’s Board is poised to launch the “21st Century Fiscal Reform Proposal,” a long-term plan to examine and reform the state/local partnership.
