ROCK COUNTY, WI – In the August 14th primary, voters will be asked to choose among three candidates running for the office of Rock County Sheriff, an elected office that directly impacts all people living in our county.

Become informed. The League of Women Voters of Beloit and Janesville, the NAACP, and Justice Overcoming Borders (JOB) are sponsoring a candidate forum on Wednesday, July 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Kolak Administrative Center, 1633 Keeler Avenue in Beloit. A moderator will pose questions, developed by the sponsors, to candidates Gary Groelle, Troy Knudson, and Jude Maurer, concerning their positions on issues impacting public safety (recidivism, racial profiling, and living conditions at the jail, among others).

Become involved. People attending the forum will be given the opportunity to submit written questions that will be screened for relevance and posed to the candidates for their reply.

Additionally, each candidate will have the opportunity to speak freely about their positions.

Lastly, voter registration assistance provided by the League of Women Voters will be available at the forum.
